I knew those kids were going to win. They blew the other school's vids out of the water.

Presidential visits suck. They are very disruptive to local citizens' everyday lives. This is nothing to celebrate.

I found it very humorous when I saw on TV how the announcement caused a bunch of locals to dance and go a little crazy. Never seen that sort of reaction before for any president, even the good ones.

The President speaking at a high school graduation is going to disrupt your life THAT much? I'm not sure I understand how this will affect the regular citizen of Memphis in such a drastically negative way.

Congratulations to the kids, this will be an amazing experience for them. I'm pretty sure if the President had come to speak at my high school graduation, I would have done a little dance too

Obama had a 15 minute ride from the airport to the Convention Center and back. That required some roads being closed for a little while, but isn't worth it to protect the President? We don't want him mingling with other drivers that might try to run into his limousine. Whether you like him or not, you should respect the office and the protection it requires.

I'm pretty sure he met with the flood victims at the Convention Center instead of using his giant motorcade to stroll around Memphis to see the victims, which was very considerate. I'm sure there were a few people that were upset about waiting for him, but it is a necessary sacrifice for the overall community. This was a big visit for Memphis.

True. That's just the way it goes.

Every city has to do this!
