Remember NSA, you get what you pay for. Cities that have lower cost of living especially taxes usually don't offer much as far as good schools and jobs. Remember research before you move!!!

Nsa, Property taxes are less in Nashville, Murfreesboro, Williamson County. That is where I live. I've seen you on the Jersey Board, I sure hated it there. TN is a great place to live. I was just reading this and noticed your post.
I much prefer Nashville to Memphis, its more cosmopolitian.

Nashville is about 3-4 hours east of Memphis. It would add a few hours to a trip to LA.

NSA, I moved from Jersey Last July, never to return.I was there 13 years in Manalapan, but was from LI orginally.
I love TN but this is where I went to college many years ago.
Memphis is about 3 hours from Nashville. I have a friend from PA that just moved to Louisiana,

lucky you. I heard that manalapan's property taxes are through the roof. I know someone who pays like $6000/year for a small ranch. What line of work are you in? I like the south better in some ways because people are generally friendlier and not i such a hurry. Is Nashville overall safer than Memphis?

Nashville is a little safer than Memphis, but according to the crime statistics, not much. It entirely depends on the area of town you live in.

Agreed, I'm sure it depends on what area. However, from what I have seen of Nashville over the years, the "bad areas" of Memphis seem to be more spread out and more all over. Wheras Nashville seems more like a typical city, where the "bad areas" are confined to a certain part of town (like the south side, the east side, whatever).

But, again, in Memphis and every other city in this great nation, the violent crimes are nearly confined to visibly obvious bad neighborhoods (I'm not sure that "visibly obvious bad" is even a real phrase, but hear me out).
