The whole previous post is garbage, imo -- with the exception of 'Welcome, Ann'.

Sorry you don't like it, Strump, but you don't get to define my experiences.
Conversely, if Ann had said "In my experiences, conservatives have been overly religious Biblethumpers who want to burn books and return us to Ward and June Cleaver lives while trying to get AK-47's in the hand of pre-K students", I would say that I may disagree with those takes as being representative of conservatives...but that those were her experiences and not mine. Unfortunate experiences, sure, but hers nonetheless. As such, I would not be able to define her experiences as "garbage". To do so would be condescending, which if memory serves me correctly, I seem to recall saying that MY experiences have shown to be a trait that I have seen in liberals. So once again, thanks for proving my point on liberals being condescending.
Besides, if my experiences don't describe you or your behavior/beliefs (minus the condescending part, of course, since that's now irrefutable), then cool...why get defensive if I'm not talking about you, right?
OK, I'm done with this. All of you have a wonderful day!

Plus, I didn't say that liberals don't value family or religion. I said that in MY experiences (and I have quite a few, especially outside of Memphis), liberals tend to denigrate conservative values like God, guns, and family values. Don't get mad at me because liberals are always the ones undermining Second Amendment rights (even arguing that ALL of the Bill of Rights are individual rights EXCEPT FOR the Second Amendment, which inexplicably does NOT guarantee gun ownership rights to individuals); trying to get Heather Has Two Mommies and King and King put into public school libraries and taught in kindergarten classrooms; and leap through hoops to remove any reference to God anywhere outside of a church. Aside from trivial things like that, yeah, libs sure do put a premium on things like family values and God. Nice job proving my point on liberals being condescending, people.
Dang it, I really didn't want to turn this into a political thread. Anyway, back to my original point: Welcome, Ann.

If we are going back to your original post then no you didn't say in your experience. However it doesn't matter.........Please name one liberal that has actually tried to take away our second amendment rights.......And why shouldn't Heather has Two Mommies be put in public school libraries? Is the Catcher in the Rye in library? By not putting it in a library you are banning books which should never been done. As for God, he doesn't belong in schools but can remain in the pledge, I personally don't see anything wrong with God since all religions believe in God and yes Allah and God are one in the same. My liberal upbringing revolved around family so I am not sure why you think Libs don't value family. Every Sunday was spent with the family usually at my grandmothers.
As for Ted Kennedy, if the politians here in Memphis would take a cue from him you wouldn't have the corruption you have here. Ted Kennedy has done great things for the state of Mass and for the country. No Child Left Behind was his plan that the Bush Administration underfunded..........

If you go back to my comment that Strump said was "garbage", then yes I did.
Ted Kennedy has done great things for the state of Mass and for the country.
Sure, if you can just get past that whole "killing a woman in his car" thingy.
Like I said, I'm done. Enjoy your day.

I'm sorry if I misspoke and told you that I'm a liberal or anything else. I'm not.
And, you didn't say "in MY experience"........You said: "We don't like condescension (which, with all due respect, many liberals tend to exhibit), nor do we like our values (God, guns, family) denigrated."
You want something as un-Constitutional as combining the Christian church and the secular government, yet you're up in arms about the liberals and their gun opinions? You value family. But, if it doesn't fit into your archetypical Adam and Eve household, it's not a family. You swear by the Constitution, yet, you only want to follow the rules that you want to apply to you. I could go all day, but this isn't the time and it definatly isn't the place. Feel free to send me a PM if you want to talk.

So, according to your logic, I can write whatever nasty things I want to write as long as I preface with 'in my experience'? I don't think so.
In my experience, political discussions are usually best left to the politics board.
