This coming Saturday - 9/16/2006

Cooper Young Festival - http://www.cooperyoungfestival.com/

From their website: The Cooper-Young Festival, hosted by the Cooper-Young Business Association (CYBA), is Memphis' most anticipated outdoor celebration. Held in Memphis' largest historic district, the Cooper-Young Festival is scheduled for Saturday, September 16th, 2006 (rain date - Sunday, Sept. 17th).

In its ninteenth year, this event has grown tremendously and is one of Memphis' most highly attended Festivals. This year over 50,000 guests will enjoy an appealing mix of art, music and crafts presented by over 300 artisans from around the country. This Festival is a true celebration of the arts, people, culture and Memphis heritage.

How about local riding roads for Sportbike riders? Are there good areas to go ride in? Thanks!

Sorry, but I don't know the answer to that. It seems like the Sportbike riders that I see around just use the city streets.

Give me a break, you must have lived no where else in the United States with all due respect....

I lived and worked as a professional in Memphis and still have interests in Germantown for over a decade...

While your list seems impressive, it pales to what other cities its similar size has to offer in my opinion and experience...plus a lot of the venues you mentioned are hardly worth seeing in the first place.....

"It ain't that bad" ???? well, I agree...but then again, it's what you're used to, isn't it ?....a native Atlantan would no doubt yawn....even a Tampa Bay resident would say no big deal..........but if you're from Helena or Jonesboro Arkansas, or say Dyersburg, TN, or Tupelo, MS, you might be impressed with what Memphis 'seems' to offer...

I've never been impressed...sorry....but you're correct, it could be worse...it could be like Jackson ,Mississippi, or Montgomery, Alabama....

Again, it depends on your experience in living, your standards, and WHERE ELSE you've lived before 'coming to Memphis'....if that is your only point of reference Memphis may seem like Hollywood....."but it ain't"
