With the new renovation of Germantowns down town area, will this give the town enough money to finally buy the public schools? Creating their own district. This would be initially very expensive, but the schools would become some of the best in the country, and I would imagine the property values would go up due to these Fabulous schools. This way the High Schools would never have to deal with memphis city schools or even the county schools district politics.

Creating a special school district is done at the state level, iirc. You can bet the Shelby County school system wouldn't willingly give up the revenue that would be required to run a whole new school system.
I wouldn't hold my breath if I were you. |
