Default Hotels in Memphis

Hello. I'm planning a trip to Memphis via Megabus from Atlanta soon. I was looking for a nice hotel between the Megabus stop and Beale St. I was planning on walking to Beale St at night to party and hopefully I can find some good bbq in downtown Memphis during the day. What is the main place to eat bbq in that area because I will only be in the city for one day and what is a good hotel to stay in? I will not be renting a car. Thanks!

The Megabus stop is at the address listed below.

North End Terminal
444 N. Main Street
Memphis, TN 38103

Thanks!

Starting from near the station to Beale: Comfort Inn Dtwn $, Marriott Courtyard $$, Sleep Inn $, SpringHill Suites $, Residence Inn $$ - but with breakfast, dinner & wine/beer most nights incl. North End Station is about 8 blocks from Beale, last hotel mentioned is 3 to 4. The best BBQ within your route is probably Memphis Style ribs at Blues City Cafe at Beale and Second St.

Welcome. Repboy nailed the places to stay. If you get adventurous and wander further east into the city check out midtown and grab a sandwich at Finos or head over to cooper/young and try the fries at young ave deli.

Enjoy.

Whatever you do, do not let the bums on Beale St. know that you are a tourists because they will try to swindle you for money. Just try to look like a local as much as possible...that's what I do when visiting places, but Repboy definitely nailed everything. Hope you enjoy the city beause I definitely enjoyed Atlanta a couple of months ago.
