My family lives that way. They've lived there for 21 years. They like it a lot.
What they like: schools (when I was growing up, but they're still good), new supermarket, new movie theater, friendly locals, quaint country living atmosphere, low property taxes, low crime, low home prices.
What they do not like: longer commute to work (depending on what part of Memphis you work in). That's pretty much it!
If you really like night life (bars, clubs, etc.) or bookstores or things like that, then you'll have to drive to Memphis, since Atoka has none. If that stuff isn't important to you, great!
