Default Memphis Flood area
How can I find a specific fllood areas in Memphis, TN? For example, Flecther Creek on Germantown Parkway and Chimmney Rock. Is there a web site or a contact # in the City's admin department where I can call for this information?

USGS has an office in Memphis and should be able to help you obtain floodplain maps. FEMA has floodplain maps, as well. I met with a hydrologist from the Army Corps of Engineers a year or so ago, and he had good floodplain maps, but I think those maps came from USGS, not the Corps.


ETA -- I found online floodplain maps on the FEMA website. Go to the FEMA website (FEMA Map Service Center - FEMA Issued Flood Maps) and follow the prompts.
