I am glad to hear that.

I do some photo work for the City of Collierville and they do stress the value of parks and recreation, including the nature trails. The mall to my belief has not hurt the area, unless of course, you live in a home that is just adjacent to the mall. The mall continues to grow with some new stores coming to town. Collierville is growing but it is a very controlled growth.

I love the mall out there....it's not a regular mall, like Wolfchase (the horrors!!). It's very nice, outdoors, good landscaping, upscale shops, upscale customers. Unless they start building a ton of other crap around it (Best Buys, Targets, restaurants, etc) then it will be fine. If (when) they do start building more mega-stores around it, things will go downhill. (ie...Wolfchase)

Well that may be happening. On the south side of the mall, across the road, some big stores are being built. I believe Circuit City, Sports Authority, but not sure.

Really???? I must keep my eyes shut when I drive, I was just out there before Christmas and didn't notice any of that! Adding a ton of things like that will just bring traffic, and riff-raff. Right now, Collierville is a long way to drive for people when they could easily just go to another nearby mall for a shirt or whatever. But if you build all those new stores, it makes it more of a destination, and riff-raff will follow. Like at Wolfchase; it used to be great, but now it's a headache and filled with unruly teens running around.

You need to come out and visit the mall again. Get off I-385, past the car dealer, and keep going through the lights. When you get to the next intersection, look forward and a bit left and will see the new buildings going up. I don't think that area will ever become a Wolfchase area, since there is only one main road into the mall area but we will see if it does indeed attract the riff-raff.

My husband and I are considering moving to Cville....we are looking to buy 5+ acres of land besides a realtor any recommendations on ways to look up land for sale? We will be there to visit in person in April...but we wanted to do some reserach before we got there.
We are also considering the areas of Somerville, Jackson, and Columbia besides Collierville.
Any suggestions???
Also can you tell me of any property management companies or places to find that perfect rental home until we buy there?

I think Crye-Leike is the biggest property management firm in town.

Not cool!

Bowyer, that's exactly what our realtor told us, he insisted we stay away from "south of Poplar", and we paid more for a house north of Poplar!
|
Realtors are bound by a code of ethics and have laws that they must abide by in their practice. Surely this agent who "steered" you "north of Poplar" must be unaware of this!
