Has anyone had a wall removed in a house? I've gotten 3 quotes for a wall, and we aren't real happy about any of them. I'm looking to get one or two more quotes.
The first guy doesn't seem too confident. His website says he specializes in small repairs.
The second (large) company that is our favorite won't call me back. I'm guessing they don't care about small jobs like a single wall.
The third company gave me a quote for twice as much as the other two.
Who have you guys used?

Well, if it's a single wall and not load bearing you could do it yourself if you are capable? If it is a load bearing wall it would probably cost you some money as they would need to place a steal beam or build up the structure to support the weight of the 2nd floor/roof.

It's a support wall with 3 air vents (including both sides) and two electrical outlets. The vents will be rotated to the ceiling instead of the top of the wall, and one of the outlets is going to be relocated to the ceiling for a light fixture since it's hooked up to a wall switch. I've gotten quotes from $2000-3500. The most difficult part is getting larger companies to call you back since they don't want small projects. I've had a bunch of people that wouldn't call me back after they figured out it was one wall.
