Oh yeah...

La Guadalupana on Summer Avenue has some fine cooking. I have not been there in a while, but they are straight up El Norte (more or less) as near as I can gather and that would make it authentic for sure.

For authentic, I highly recommend Mariscos Mazatlan on Winchester. The seafood soup, fish tacos, and guacamole (among other things) are great. It's around the corner from the old Hobby Lobby and the Chuck E Cheese. Be forewarned that a couple of friends of mine found it 'too' authentic for their taste as they prefer Tex-Mex / American-Mexican.

Like others have done, I'll pipe in and vote for Las Tortugas on Germantown Parkway. More authentic than that just doesn't exist in Memphis, in my opinion.

If you go, try the corn on the cob. They dress it in lime juice, cheese and some sort of white sauce. Definitely worth it!

Their fruit aguas are great too. Watermelon is the best!

I'm also a fan of the flauta de pollo and the quesadilla de queso y poblano!
