Default Average Utility bill

I'm in the process of looking to buy a house in Cooper-Young. Can anyone tell me how to go about finding the average utility bill for a specific address? Thank you in advance for your time!

mlgw.com is our utility company.

I'm not sure if you can inquire about price and useage for a home you do not own. I would (hope/think) they wouldn't give that info out readily. You might want to check their website and call if you cannot find the info on there.

I'm pretty sure you can get the average bill for any residence or business they serve. You can also look up the property taxes for every piece of property in the county online. It is public information that is required to be public by law (I think).

I don't know how they could give you an average though...my bill is about $30 in the winter and $200 in the summer. And I would be willing to bet just about any amount of money that I use my heat and air far less than the normal human being

Property taxes are specific to the house though..they don't change day to day based on use like utilities. But please, if anyone finds out where to look, please let me know. I'd be curious to see myself

I think if you call and give a specific address they can tell you what the highest bill was and the lowest bill was, but not an "average".

Correct. Call MLGW and say you are looking at a specific address and wanted to know what the average utility bill was. They'll give it out, no problems.

you can also ask the previous owners. some owners will actually state the average cost of utilities on their info sheet when you're houseshopping... at least all the houses that i looked at did lol.
