Perhaps this is a two-part question...

Do politically liberal Christian people in Memphis attend church regularly?
If so, what churches do they go to?

It was recently made clear to me that, as a Green-Party-leaning-Democrat, I'm a major outlier in my non-denominational Christian church. I don't really have a problem being in the minority and have no plans to change churches, but it made me wonder where other people go who share my views.

There's also Memphis InterReligious Group (Memphis IRG.org) which was featured during a pair of American Muslims' 2010 tour of mosques (30 mosques in 30 days) for its mix of Muslims, Christians and Jews:

"The Ordmans are a part of the Memphis InterReligious Group that encourage Muslims, Christians and Jews to hang out with each other and attend each other’s services. I’ve done a lot of traveling across the country and I’ve never seen an interfaith community like Memphis where a guy like Chip comes to mosques for Friday prayers and chat about the khutbah sermons afterwards with congregants." (30 Mosques » Blog Archive » Day 27: The Muslims in Memphis (Part 1))

Not sure if that's what you're looking for, but that blog, along with the profile about Rabbi Micah Greenstein and his interaction with other faiths during in Memphis Magazine in 2013 are promising in building bridges, not walls of exclusivity, among religions.

Wow that is an ambitious task. Kind of like mixing oil and water.

From the comments of participants in the blog, they make it sound natural. But from the sensationalism we hear in media about the extremism of religion (as well as politics and sports), it's a stark contrast and nice change of pace.

Why so intolerant of people who disagree with you politically? It's not as if you are voting for them....just worshiping and practicing your faith along side of them. Just visit a few places over the next few Sundays and find a crowd that you can tolerate.
