Memphis will be expected to pay for all travel expenses incurred during the season for all home games

I'd love to see proof of this, if it's possible. That just doesn't make sense.

Actually I'll start a new thread if you or anyone else is game for discussion on this topic. I don't want to hijack.

We are a young middle to late 20's couple with no children, however we will start planning a family soon. We do not do the "bar scene" anymore, we enjoy the mall, going to movies, ballgames, musuems, and out to eat. We currently live in a sub-division and I am not totally against sd's, however we would like to find a place with a large enough yard for everyone to play in if desired. Our price range is 250-400K. I will post this on both boards. What are some great areas in Memphis to raise a family?
Although personally I prefer Memphis, I think you would prefer Nashville. It is more family friendly. However, if you are from the deep South, Memphis is much more Southern. Nashville is a mini Atlanta.

I like Memphis better hands down! Who cares about pro sports the TIGERS are the best thing going for this state. Already #2 in the nation. I was thinking the other day and I know the talent level is so much better in the NBA but the TIGERS could probably beat the Grizz.

I grew up in Memphis--go to Nashville. If you don't do it now, you'll be doing it not much later.

The schools in memphis are awful and that is every where in memphis not only the city it is in Tipton County and everywhere else. If you are a teacher, your child is safe. If not then your child better be able to accept the fact that they will never fit in. Well, of course if you are related to everyone - then you may have a bit of a chance. I wished someone would have warned me before I moved out here 6 months ago. There was one thing posted on a sight that I looked on but I thought "that is only one person" BIG MISTAKE!!! people don't speak up because they are scared. I literally had to make a comment to a teacher asking her if she needed me to come over to my sons school and let her know in front of other faculty members. That you do not tell children to SHUTUP!! Other comments were made as well but if I write too much this won't get posted. Please look to move some where else. If I can help one child have a better education due to this posting, it will make me feel better.
Loving mother of one,
M

I think it's a bit much to say that unless your child is the son/daughter of a teacher, then you will not fit in. What is that, 1% of all kids out there? I'm sorry if you have had a bad school experience - may want to think about sending your kids elsewhere.
