What about Bartlett or Millington?

The only apartment complexes I am aware of in Bartlett are Bartlett Heights (older, probably cheaper rent, but should be generally safe and the schools should be fine), Quail Ridge (the one in the Egypt area strumpeace mentioned. I think that area is fine, although kind of close to the Bartlett/Memphis city limits (a few miles away). Strumpeace may know something I don't, but I haven't heard of any real problems happening there. It is on one of the most popular daily fee golf courses in the area, is a fairly big complex, and is probably higher than $900 for a 3 bedroom) and one near the Wolfchase Mall off Brunswick Road (I don't know the name of it, but it's probably higher than $900 for a 3 bedroom as well).

I wouldn't think you would be dealing with any really bad issues (other than normal, rude neighbor apartment type issues and the occasional property crime that comes with all apartments in the Memphis area) in any of these complexes, and the schools would be generally safe and decent for any of them.

Thanks for all the responses, You all have been helpful. His company will fly us out to look around for a place and I would like to start out in the right place and not waste time looking at a place that advertises to be in one place but in another. I am trying to avoid Memphis city Schools. I would prefer Shelby County Schools. I'll have one in Elementary and one in Middle. Thanks Again.

I would go w/ Bartlett if you're concerned about education. Millington schools are no good. Probably the worst schools in Shelby County, especially for the middle schools and high school. That's the reason why a lot of military families chose not live in Millington. A lot of them move to Bartlett or Tipton County.

I would rent a house if I were you. And like people said, I don't think that is officially Bartlett there.

Do you know the best way to find a house for rent? All the web searches i've found are for apartment complexes.

I live in Bartlett, right off of Ellendale road. There are 2 apartment complexes that are VERY nice. One is Quail Ridge Apartments - right off the golf course. There is another complex that is BRAND NEW right across the street, however because they are new, I do not have the name of them. They are both very nice apartments and probably the best part of Bartlett to be in. They are both located on Egypt Central Road. (right off Kirby Whitten) I am not sure of the prices, but definately worth checking out.
