I'm curious to know what neighborhood it is around Shelby Drive and Germantown Road South? I'm not sure if it's Southwind or Hickory Hill, also is that a sketchy part of Memphis?

I know the areas west of Riverdale between Winchester and Shelby are pretty bad.

Most would define this as [formerly] Unincorporated SE Memphis. It's certainly not Germantown or Collierville or East Memphis, but not an inherently dangerous area. There are some very nice homes that are well kept and some that look like they could belong in a bad neighborhood. But overall, like I said, it's not a dangerous area.... I personally feel safer over there than in some parts of Cordova.

I thought a lot of the homes looked really nice and well kept in the area, I do notice the areas paralleling Shelby Drive in that neighborhood seems to be kept up better than the areas paralleling Winchester Road, that is interesting you feel safer being in that neighborhood than some parts of Cordova.

If they're a Memphis native, they may be from, and grew up in a southern part of Memphis, and fill more comfortable with the areas east in the southern part of town. Someone who grew up in northern part of town will most likely fill more comfortable with the Cordova area v some parts of Hickory Hill and the eastern unincorporated area.

Of course this is pure speculation until ilove901 chimes in.

I have lived in Germantown and East Memphis (Perkins & Poplar area) and travel throughout the entire city because of my job. I see different types of crime in the SE Corridor than I do in the NE corridor of the area.

Wow you've seen crimes! Man that's just awesome. How blessed. Hope you have your phone camera set to ready!
