The Tenoke Building, near Court Square, is slated for redevelopment as an Aloft Hotel. Cool!

That's cool! I used that parking lot many times for work in downtown and for attending events at the Cannon, but sounds like if the deal were to ultimately go through, a new parking area would be built. A new tower would be great for downtown.

I found this old "eyesores" article from 2009. Most of them are now either redeveloped or under redevelopment. Memphis really has come a long way.

Is Memphis seeing a lot of growth in logistics and warehousing? I live in Memphis' twin city, Louisville, which is home to the world UPS hub. Up here there are warehouses being built all over the place. Are you all also seeing growth in that area?

A few good headlines of late:

https://www.memphisdailynews.com/new...-headquarters/
Tri-State Bank is moving its headquarters off Beale Street. Looks like they may have found a home in the old Midtown building at Union/Cleveland. That would definitely be a positive development for that area. Meanwhile, the old location (the land, at least) in downtown is strongly rumored to become a hotel for the Hard Rock Cafe folks.

The Commercial Appeal's headquarters/office/printing building may see changes in the future. Printing operations are moving to Jackson. This is already a somewhat depressed area of the Med/Edge district, so a big project like redeveloping that building could be an important catalyst.

https://www.memphisdailynews.com/new...kman-building/
The Hickman Building, vacant since the 1970's, sits solidly in downtown on Madison Avenue across from the YMCA, and will be redeveloped as the headquarters for Southern Sun Asset Management, along with 40 apartments and some retail space. Associated parking structure will reportedly also be constructed. The Hickman Building is an architectural gem and LRK is in charge of design, so I think this will be a great return to prominence for the building and for eastern Madison Ave in downtown.
