Hi I have a question.. I used to live in Whitehaven I moved from Texas about 15 years ago.. I was wondering why did the white people leave Whitehaven and fid not fix the businesses or made the surrounding stores and bussines much better like the area over in Poplar.. Like what do y'all think the reason is that Whitehaven became what it is now? What is the difference back then I mean way back not when I came BC when I came it was bad already... I was just curious thanks!?

Long story short, the Poplar corridor attracts a different kind of resident. There's a completely different mindset between people who choose to live in East Memphis and those who choose to live in temporary flight havens to the north and south.
