It's not Fedex or Northwest that keeps Southwest out of Memphis, it's a stupid law by a Texas congressman.

The cost of flying to and from Memphis is a great example of how corrupt the politics in the area are. I lived in Memphis for six years, moving there from Louisiana where I thought politicians were corrupt, and I learned just how bad things could get. While Memphis has grown in the past decade, it has been in spite of the efforts of local and state "civil servants." The city government is nothing more than a bottomless pit for tax dollars. The state government treats Memphis like a red-headed stepchild; for all the tax revenue the region produces, there is no investment in the area coming from Nashville. I suspect the state's lack of interest in doing anything with Memphis stems from the fact that the state politicians know any money sent to the city on River will end up in some Ford's pocket.

Then you say you're not comparing Germany to Memphis, then go ahead and still make the specious comparison....now THAT's absurd reasoning it seems.

Jews in Europe could not exercise free will....at the time, they were hardly very mobile- few European countries wanted or welcomed an influx of Jews.

And here's a news flash >> there's anti-Semitism alive and well in Memphis, it's just the sneaky sort--just like the kind that non-whites face each day in Memphis- a sneaky brand, covert, institutionalized, embedded, a "WHO ME ? I'm not a racist" brand---

whew
OMG Yall have taken this to a whole other level! You know when I really believe racism and anti-Semitism no longer exists? Its when people stop thinking about it and its not part of our culture. In other words we don't notice if someone is black or white, jewish or whatever race or religion it is. You know the biggest factor is not being black or white but its ignorance or accepting one's current circumstances as "That is the way my parents lived, so I shouldn't expect much better." I am so thankful for those positive adults in young people's lives that still hold to basic decent morales and beliefs. I am tired of people using racism as an excuse not to achieve higher. I work at FEDEX and there is such a diverse population of employees at ALL levels of successful positions. So what excuse do the thousand of Indian people we have use for not progressing past an unimaginable level of poverty? They don't envy or have anger for Americans that already have wealth just by being born in the USA.
OK now take what I just typed to a WHOLE NOTHER LEVEL!.
