Can anyone recommend a good general contractor in the Memphis area? Might be doing some basic home renovations. Would like someone reliable that gets the job done, not someone cheap that doesn't do it correctly.

I'd recommend swift treadwell. You can look them up at swifttreadwell.com. The owner is a fraternity brother of mine and they do great work.

I have used a company named JRI Design Build. Owners Name is Jason Rhea friend of mine. their website is JRI Design/Build Kitchen and Bath Design Studio Germantown,TN 38138
They do all types of work and can also offer design assistance with CAD.

JRI Design Build completed a kitchen and master bathroom remodel for us and their thorough upfront approach and great design has made our kitchen a much better entertaining environment. The master bathroom has a large walk in steam shower with travertine walls. Jason helped us with his great design ideas and 3-D rendering to better understand what we would be getting at completion. We have already begun speaking with him about completing an outdoor kitchen/living room.
