Maybe TJ Mulligans too. Anywhere there is a bar, you will find locals sitting there. Try to look for places that have trivia at night....trivia is pretty big here and lots of locals come out for it. Mulligans and the Saucer downtown have it for sure. Mulligans is bit north though, in the old Pinch district. The Saucer is probably your best bet for meeting young professionals around the age of 30.

Thanks for the suggestions PB
I hang out mostly downtown (unfortunately i work way east) so i'm familiar with some of those places. I know for sure Huey's has trivia nights - i've gone there to eat before and the place was packed.
The few people i know here aren't really into the 'goin-out' scene, so I just don't have much of a feel for where locals spend their time. I know Spindini is/was popular with the 20-30s crowd. It's often very crowded tho.. and the space is awkward.

...Blue fin if you like sushi (turns into club scene late night) and Alfreds on Saturday this hubby/wife duo covers lots of popular songs. Try swigs....if you like social drinking its a fun place to meet people. Also pick up a Memphis Flyer the next time you go to Hueys it is jam packed with info

Oh gosh, duh. The rooftop parties. Madison, Peabody, and EP's all have them on Thursdays. Good idea!

Right~ I've been hearing about the Madison's rooftop party. I'm a 9-5er (which is really like 9-7+) so I am often less motivated to go out after a long day with work the next morning. I miss my college days
If it's a lot of fun I'd definitely like to check it out. Madison rooftop is the best of those?

I think the Peabody is the best, and oldest. Madison tends to be an older crowd. Peabody is a good mix. EP's is definitely a younger crowd. Madison gets more upscale bands, Peabody tends to be rock bands, and EP's has turned into a predominantly dance/hip hop place. NOt sure about their Thursday parties though - they might be different. Peabody is the original however

Rooftop parties? Looks like I'll need a guide and I've been here a while. lol Texas de Brazil is right next to the Peabody btw. It's meat-lovers heaven and a lot of people's favorite place for a good dinner. How about we start on the ground and maybe work our way up.
How does Texas de Brazil at 8:30 PM for tonight or tomorrow night sound? I'll have my simcity name tag of course. I'll send all interested a PM (or a DM as city-data forums likes to call it), or feel free to message me.
