i AM MOViN TO MEMPHiS TO START SCHOOl THiS SUMMER. i HAVE THOUGHT ABOUT GREENBROOK APARTMENTS AND i WAS THiNKiNG ABOUT THE BiRCHES AT COUNTRYSiDE. iS THiS A GOOD CHOiCE TO STAY AWAY FROM CRiME??

I would not recommend the Greenbrook apartments. One of my friends actually lives there and plans to move. Her husband's car has been broken into twice. I am not sure about the Birches. You could go to Apartment Ratings - Apartments for Rent with Ratings and Reviews from Actual Renters and put in the apartment name to get reviews from actual renters.

I lived at the Birches about 13 years ago and it was great, quiet area with little or no crime. However, a lot can change in 13 years. When we were living there it was incorporated. Now I believe that area has been annexed by Memphis. I know the neighborhood next to it has gone down a bit.

I toured the Birches a couple of years ago when I was looking for an apartment in Memphis. The manager there was very nice and gave us a tour. As we were walking back to the office after the tour, I asked "So do you have any problems with crime here?" Her face turned red, she started stuttering, and she became quite evasive. The conversation ended with her telling me that she would not be able to talk with me at all about crime and that I would have to call the Memphis Police Department for any crime information.

In all my years of moving from apartment complex to apartment complex, I had never experienced anything like that.

The Birches was quickly removed from my list.
