As for cookie cutter. There is one other house that looks like it has the same floorplan as mine in about a square half mile radius or so (I'm not being precise, cut me some slack). Most of the houses back up to a golf course in my area and are very unique.
My sister lives in one of those cookie-cutter subdivisions though so I know what you are talking about. Still, her house is nice and was a bargain too.
I can find no bad points about Olive Branch.

I didn't say there was anything wrong with Olive Branch, just that it's not a small town. I remember when Olive Branch was a town about the size of Independence, MS and was indeed a small town back then. Bartlett, TN used to be a small town too, but as the borders all started to blur, it became a suburb instead.

Memphis is a beautiful city rich in archetecture (sp?), food and just a general all around place. The beautiful Mississippi River winds by her with a large party district in the Midtown and Downtown area. There is a wonderful Trolley System that runs downtown, the downtown historical area as well as the Medical area. There are a lot of things to do in Memphis on a casual evening. I spend half of my time here in Vegas and half in Memphis. ...one of the good things about working on the computer.
Memphis has Milington to the N, Collierville and Germantown, Arlington to the west with Ark and Miss to theo other sides. I live in a home over 150 years old and love that city!! I know you will as well. If I can assist you further drop me a personal email with thre asteriscs in the subject line. I will respond to you.

My sister has lived in Henderson for 10 years.
She likes the town and the schools.
And there is a university there too, which helps.

I was referring to Henderson, the city in Chester County, not Henderson County.

So is everyone else.
Henderson does have great schools, and there is a nice college there.

moving to Bolivar questions
I live in Bolivar. It is a small town that has yet to emerge into the 20th century! it has almost 6000 people and the attitudes are that of a small town. very racist and i am white. unless you are working at the hospital there or related to someone living here already, you will be an outsider forever.
the schools are wretched. there are literally hundreds of children that go to Jackson each day to the private schools there so that they can get a good education. so if educ is impt this is not the place to be.
i am with the person that suggested Henderson if you want a good small town.
good luck

Memphis....
Memphis is a grat city! Like all cities it has its rough area. However, as a whole, I really enjoy it. I live in a historical district where I watch the Mississippi, tugs, Riverboats carrying coAl, fertilizer, etc... chuggig up and down the Mississippi. It is a quite modern city full of great people. There are homes that are over 125 years old, cobblestone streets, .... I love it!!
Don in Memphis and Las Vegas....
