relocating to Memphis- job in Frasier Industrial Park (Bartlett, Millington: rentals, homes)

My husband's company is relocating him to Memphis. The job is in the Northridge Indsutrial Park. We are looking for a place to rent within a reasonable commute in a safe neighborhood. (We are in Phoenix now and are used to traffic issues). So far, Bartlett and the Mississippi subs along I-55 have been recommended. Our budget is 800-1200 and we need a yard for the dog. Schools are not an issue yet. Any suggestions?

Mississippi suburbs would be a pretty long commute to Frayser. Bartlett is good, but that price might be hard to find. You'll probably have better luck in Millington. It's close to Frayser (straight up Hwy 51) but is MUCH safer. There should be plenty of reasonably priced rentals in that area since the Naval Air Station has only a fraction of the servicemen there compared to several years ago.

I would look in the Lucy area too.

There are slightly older homes in established neighborhoods with nice big yards.

I went last year to the Lucy Garden Club plant sale, nice people.
