Patty Everitt is on a distinguished road
I sold a house to a couple from New Jersey, last year, they hit their year anniversary , last month I believe, anyway, I received an email from them telling me how they love their house and Collierville, TN. and thanking me for helping them. I never get that! She told me she loves the weather and her job and her neighborhood. I always feel really sad when I see blogs on the people that hate Memphis. Is it what we make of it?

I moved to Memphis almost 2 years ago and it is awful!!!! That being said....the only place to live is Collierville. It is the best suburb!!! It has a small town feel...with a town square where they have festivals and Christmas tree lighting with the mayor handing out hot chocolate!! You would love it!! Collierville also has wonderful schools where the children all walk to school and there are many stay-at-home Moms. It is clean and has all the shopping and restaurants you need....everything is very new looking....it only really took off as a city about 10 years ago!! Look online and see for yourself. E-mail the Chamber of Commerce - they sent me an entire packet of helpful info. They have great sports and two great parks here!!! FedEx people get a discount at the YMCA (nice and new) and the other Fitness places. Super people, high income area, but have 2-3 bedroom new apartments for around $900 a month. Can find these online too!! You would love it here and feel very safe.
Do not go to Cordova, Bartlett or anywhere north. The crime is getting bad up there with many home invasions. The news is something you have to get immune to here. The murder-a-day, shootings, and home invasions. I highly recommend listening to Ben Furguson on WREC (600AM) and you will learn a lot about Memphis once you move here!!!! If you believe anyone on this forum....believe me. I am the pickiest person and I am very good at listening to my gut....Collierville is the only place to live if you want to stay out of the "bad" areas and want to feel truly safe.
Finally, We are moving as soon as possible. I would not recommend moving here!!! There is a horrible corupt mayor and city counsel members. The people of Memphis keep re-electing these morons. The people in the city are living in poverty and won't even help themselves....it is one horrible story after another. Race is also a huge issue here. The people are horribly rude and have attitudes like you would't believe. I would avoid it at all costs, but if this is where you have to move...then move to Collierville....it is worth the drive!!!!!!!!! Trust me.
