Favorite Sandwich Place?
I've been craving a falafel and hummus wrap from Pita Wraps on Poplar today. At the moment, that wrap is definitely my hands-down winner for best sandwich.
What's your favorite place to get a sandwich? (And what do you usually get?)

I'm originallyfrom New Jersey, and grew up eating hoagies. Lenny's #2 (Italian Sub) is decent and somewhat similar to what I crave. Leny's also has good tuna subs.
Now if I could only find some decent pizza, scrapple and pork roll served in a restaurant!

I lived in NJ for two years, so I know what you mean. I miss decent pizza (and for cheap)! Never got into the pork roll or scrapple, however.

LOL!
I'm sorry but I've had scrapple and it's amusing that someone down here, with some of the most delicious food in the world would crave that dish! Even in New Jersey they say it's 'an aquired taste'. In other words, "tastes horrible until you get used to it."
For my part scrapple is the northern equivalent of head cheese. Those that like it love it. Those that don't shudder at the mention of its name!
I'm not trying to insult you - but wow, that's one of the few dishes that I've ever tried that I just couldn't finish.

I've heard a few NY/NJ people say that Little Italy on Union has the most authentic NY-style pizza they have had in Memphis.
Dino's always seems to be mentioned by people as the best authentic sandwich shop as well, italian style.
** Correction ** I meant Fino's for sandwiches. Not Dino's. Although, both are in the same area of town, both italian, and I think both have sandwiches.

Heavenly Hogie on Union has a fabulous Italian sub and the chips that come on the side are home made. They also have an old fashioned cooler with a really good selection of beers and other drinks to choose from while waiting for your sandwich.
The prices are reasonable, too.
