Memphis in May? (rentals, condo, good hotel)

Need advice for a good hotel close to the festival. Any ideas and other information appreciated.

Unfortunately, you waited WAY too long. Hotels have been booked for months.

Any hotel available will probably be 10 miles from the festival. Downtown has been booked solid for months from what I have seen, and if there is an availablity you're looking at more than $200 a night. The hotels can charge through the roof for the entire month of May.

You might want to try West Memphis, Arkansas. It's closer to downtown Memphis than the rest of Memphis.

It looks like the Peabody still has a few rooms available from $289. Great location right downtown and party central during the festival. It would be $$$ well spent in my opinion. Also, I've found that the "vacation rentals" section of craigslist.com is pretty good sometimes. You may be able to rent a condo or house downtown for less than what a hotel will cost. Have fun. I love Memphis in May.

I don't think it is too late. Try calling around all downtown. I am sure you will find some availability - albeit, the prices will be higher.
