Default Student in Memphis in need of rental information.

My daughter is attending a technical school in Memphis/Cordova area. I need reliable information on SAFE apartment complexes. She is a student so budget is an issue. One bedroom small apartment would be perfect. Would love to rent for $500 or so. Also, can you tell me which newspaper to purchase that can help us find rentals in this general area?? Also, can you give me any other names of areas or suburbs that would be safe and not too far? I believe the North Germantown parkway area may be acceptable as well. Thanks!!

North Germantown Rd is Cordova. Most everything up there is completely safe. $500 may be pushing it for an apt though, but I'm sure you could find somewhere for that price. I think Cordova is going to be your cheapest option. The other suburbs will be more expensive. Bartlett might have some cheaper places that are older and more western, but they would probably not be as nice or safe as the ones in Cordova.

Look at commercialappeal.com or memphisflyer.com for rentals, or get one of those papers. CA is the city paper, MF is a free paper that is more "young" (not sure how to explain it). More of an alternative paper, entertainment, food, fun stuff.

Default country squire apartments

Country Squire apartments would be good to look into. They have an efficentiency apartment that pretty nice sized that usually goes for $500. I recently moved out of the complex. I never had a problem. Mantainance is great along with the office staff. They have security that rides around the property all the time. The apartments are located on Germantown parkway between Trinty and Walnut Grove. Good luck on your search!!

There are some older apartments on Cordova Road just west of Germantown Parkway. Since they are a bit older than most of the complexes out here, they may be priced reasonably. If Country Squire doesn't work out for you let me know and I'll get the name of the complex - I drive by it almost every day....

Autobon Downs apartment on 2639 Central ave are ok. Yes, you still have to lock your door at night but if you expect to pay around $500 bucks a month you can't be too picky. I pay 545 for a 2 bedroom. There are mostly students living here and I have never heard gunshots or seen fighting neighbors. I have never seen the police parked outside. It is affordable.
The apartment managers name is Brenda and the number is 901-458-3566.
