I would like for you two to take a trip to Atoka one day and maybe even visit some of the schools, talk to a few principals from Atoka or Brighton. After you talk to them maybe you will see my point. I do not want your biased opinion of the area. Do you live here? No? Okay, well then don't give a biased opinion. Multiple schools in Tipton County are nationally recognized. Get your facts together before you make a statement. Thank God you two did not go into law because nobody would want you representing them. I can say this towards "Tigertate" (whatever that is supposed to mean) because he obviously lacks vocabulary skills. Tell me "Tigertate," what is a poster?

Regarding the schools, one of the greatest public schools in the nation, Brighton High School, is located in Tipton County. BHS is a SACS CASI accredited school and has scored on average 5.7% hiher than the average public school on the ACT.

Do you have any facts to back up your claims? The amount of money you make is the amount of money you make, bottom line. You may have more disposable income because of cost of living, but that does not mean that you make more money. What you said makes no sense at all. That is like a person telling someone who makes 150K a year that they make more money than them at 50K since their house note is 1/5 of the 150K person's and they don’t pay private school tuition. That is some strange logic you are using.

The average ACT score at Brighton High is 20.9

The average ACT score for all Shelby County Schools is 21, so again you are not being truthful. The facts have been presented and you have been proven to be incorrect, so just let it go.

A poster is someone posting on a message board and Tigertate is a screen name like "wsgolding". You are starting to look a little ridiculous.

You are wrong!! Just let it go and stop embarrassing yourself.

And to clarify, I am not trying to trash Atoka or Tipton County for that matter. I am sure it is a nice place to live. My only problem is with ridiculous misinformation. If you love Atoka that is great, but don't try to make the place something that it is not. Atoka and Tipton County are not affluent upscale suburbs like Germantown or Collierville. It is more comparable to Bartlett and Desoto County. When you come here posting crap like "Atoka is more affluent than Germantown" and "Tipton County has some of the best schools in the nation" you need to have facts to back that claim up. If you don't have facts you just look like a biased know-nothing who is just making stuff up.

Sure, I've been. It looked like a poor country town and there were a lot of rednecks.

I would like to know how far into Tipton County you came' and on which road/highway. Atoka has grown a lot since I moved here in 2004. In fact, it has more than doubled it's population between 2000 and 2008.

Demographics (http://www.townofatoka.com/atoka/id15.html - broken link)
Census (http://www.townofatoka.com/atoka/id23.html - broken link)
