I've driven through that area many times, and it appears to be nice and quaint.

I found this online...a listing of all the national historic neighborhoods in Memphis along with the streets and addresses in each.

Although...haha I just noticed they don't list my street, and I'm in Central Gardens. So, this may not be completely correct but it will give you a general guideline.

So - is this Idlewild neighborhood as safe/coveted as Central Gardens? I have read that Cooper-Young can be a bit "iffy". Does the same go for Idlewild since it is close to C-Y?
Yeah, maybe that's where I lucked out, cuz we didn't live near an intersection, so we didn't have to hear the horn at its loudest.

Default Midtown Memphis

I have lived in Midtown my entire life and am fourth generation of my family here. Midtown is VERY family friendly and has a warm sense of neighborhood. There are many fine and active neighborhood associations and walking in the area is a common activity, unlike many areas of Germantown, Cordova and Collierville. There are areas of this part of town that should not be travelled, as is to be expected of any major city. However, the main area of midtown - Central Gardens, as well as the Evergreen District are quite desirable. You should spend time researching this as I believe you will be very pleased with midtown. You can reply to me at unclejoe1255@yahoo.com for further info. I will be glad to help.
