Highly recommend Sun Studios, their tour is live, it's easy to get to and park, and very inexpensive. Gibson Guitar Factory, and -since you're coming at 10, if you haven't been to see the Peabody ducks, that might be a fun place to start, I believe they march at 11AM... Be there by 10:45 for a good spot.

you must have failed to review the #4 ranking for murder and violence in nashville by the FBI...june, '08. remember, you can put lipstick on a pig, but it's still a pig...just say'n! i lived in nashville, and i lost a relative to murder in nashville during the last 14 months. take a gun w/ you, because you'll need it in nashville. buy two guns, and keep one in nashville and one in memphis for your return.

If the Redbirds have a home game, that is really fun to do. I would not do Beale street at night unless you enjoy drunken stupor and the body fluids that come with that. The Dixon Gallery is very nice. Its really hot and humid right now to go to the Zoo, although it is a nice one.

Not so fast. Memphis still has more murders and over all crime per capita than Nashville. And please provide proof that the FBI ranked Nashville as more dangerous than Memphis.
Here's what the FBI has to say on the amount of crime in Memphis and Nashville:
In 2008 Memphis (pop. 672,046) had 12,927 cases of violent crime, 137 homicides, 4,786 robberies, 7,642 aggravated assaults, 53,817 cases of property crime, 15,871 burglaries, 32,533 cases of larceny, 190 cases of arson, and 5,413 cars stolen.
In 2008 Nashville (pop. 602,181) had 8,404 cases of violent crime, 76 homicides, 2,384 robberies, 5,643 aggravated assaults, 32,347 cases of property crime, 6,326 burglaries, 23,764 cases of larceny, 116 cases of arson, and 2,257 cars stolen.

fbi: ranked nashville as #4 in violent crime in june '08; memphis was ranked #2 in june '08: you, again, show a defeicency in reading comprehension. nothing said to support your assertion about one city being more dangerous than the other. neither city has acceptable violent crime stats. nashville has terrible stats because of the crime based on the much smaller population, and memphis is bad because of the much larger population. no matter how you slice it, taking a stab at the numbers really hijacks and kills any chance for one city to steal the title over the other. shoot, predators could say that it is murder for sure, simply an assault on all who live in these communities. a fact that kills some seems to center on the consistent listing of both cities on the fbi violent crimes list. hopefully, both nashville and m-town will steal the limelight in a different way by the time new fbi rankings come out. something to think about, huh?
