Default Free or nearly free things to do in Memphis

The Pink Palace family of museums are offering a FREE 3 month membership (trial only) This has an expiration date.

The below was taken from the Memphis Flyer

The Memphis Zoo has a free day — after 2 p.m. each Tuesday with a valid Tennessee driver's license

The Memphis Pink Palace Museum and the Lichterman Nature Center are also free each Tuesday, from 1 p.m. until closing. Free admission to the Pink Palace doesn't include IMAX or Planetarium shows but does include the museum's regular exhibits.

The Memphis Botanic Garden bucks the trend on Tuesdays and is free to the public every Wednesday from noon to 6 p.m

stacykoca is on a distinguished road
I think St. Jude Children's Research Hospital is a must to see, and it is free.

The Danny Thomas Pavilion starts with Danny's prayer to St. Jude,"help me find my way in life, and I will build you a shrine".and follows his commitment to his promise, and to his belief that "no child should die in the dawn of life" . It is an incredible story, not only of Danny's vision and dream, but to how this research center has changed the survival rates of childhood cancers. You will never forget it. St. Jude is our crown jewel. Bring Kleenex.

I have had a time with the links on trying to post this!

For info just go to St. Jude Children's Research Hospital - About Us On the left is where you can find information on the pavilion and tours.

If you have kids and you or your family is from Memphis (metro-area) you could show them where you lived in the past. However, if you lived in let's say....Raleigh, you don't want this to be a night-time activity.
