Looking for a quick getaway weekend no more than 2 hours from Memphis...ideas?

That's a problem with Memphis, TN, there is hardly nothing worth seeing or doing in a 2 hour or less drive.

Memphis is somewhat isolated geographically and culturally. Mississippi ? Arkansas ?? whew

I'd just spend the money and fly the hell out of there to somewhere decent ! flight times in an hour can take you to a lot of decent places outside of Memphis and the midsouth !

With airfares as CHEAP as they are, and with a ton of promotion/stimulus packages offered on Orbitz or Hotwire, you might be doing yourself a disservice not to check them out.

Gasoline seems to be creeping up to about 2.40 or higher too

I saw a discount coach airfare to ATLANTA for 89.00 RT, for example
and tons of flights to New Orleans for a bit over 200

Spend a little more and see something worth seeing ...get out of Memphis and enjoy

heber springs ar or mountain view ark, 3 hour drive, beautiful scenery good fishing, boating skiing, anything you want, dry county so bring your own beer, wine, etc...
but it so nice and quiet, you will love it
