From what I understand, both of these are options downtown, right? I'm moving into a condo next week and need to set things up. Is one particularly better than the other? Are they comparable in price? My husband and I both do some work from home and are avid online gamers, so consistency is more important, even if it comes with a slightly higher price tag.

Where I currently live, I have Comcast for internet service, but, honestly, I haven't been too impressed with it. However, it's a bit of a "the devil you know versus the devil you don't" situation.

Comcast is terrible to deal with. But it's the only option for cable, if you do not want to get a dish. I don't know about AT&T...is that for DSL?

AT&T. Get DSL Xtreme 6.0. Way more reliable than Comcrap. They don't throttle your speed when you download like Comcrap. it's $47.95 for a DSL direct line(line with no phone service). It's $42.95 if you have phone service. Plus, you're not sharing a line with other people in your area.

Thanks for the info. Basic cable is included with the condo, so that's not something we have to worry about, just internet. $47.95 isn't bad, either.

I've been with Comcast since it was first available as Time Warner/Roadrunner and have been very happy with it. I've only had problems maybe twice in that time. Yes, their customer service is a nightmare...but my experience is that it's very rarely used.

Been using AT&T dsl internet for over a year, pretty reliable, it's up about 99% of the time. I've had comcast before, and would never want to deal with their customer svce. again.
