Hi,

One former resident of Memphis told me the cab service in the city is notoriously unreliable. How true is this if i was to order a cab for a certain time?

Just spent about 3 days on a visit to Memphis and got cabs for almost all transportation and never had a problem. A matter of fact they got to us sooner than expected much of the time.

If you live in Memphis and use taxis regularly and find a driver who is particularly competent, timely, nice, etc., it's not unheard of to ask the driver for his personal cell number. If you're a good tipper, most drivers will jump at the opportunity. I have friends who only use one particular driver; they can call him directly 24/7 without having to go through dispatch.
