Default Man hit at Central and McLean July 11th

Anyone know how the man who was hit by a car while walking his dogs last Saturday morning at Central and McLean is doing? My daughter and I saw the accident happen and stayed with him until the ambulance arrived. Haven't seen anything about his condition in the paper.

I'm sorry to tell you that he passed away. My friend was in the wreck and 9 months pregnant at the time. She said a lady ran a red light, hit their car and pushed them into the man and his dogs. She's devastated and actually gave birth to her son on Friday.

My prayers go out to his family.

I don't think he died, although his condition is serious. Here is an email I received regarding his condition......he is a friend of a friend of mine.....

"Last night I talked to Patrick's Mom and she told me that Patrick has a broken arm and spinal fractures at T4 and that one of his lungs fills up with fluid and he's on a respirator . He is aware of what is going on but can't speak. He can squeeze your hand, nod his head a little and shrug is shoulders a little. His blood pressure had been as low as 70/40 and unstable at first but is improving. Until he'a more stable they can't schedule surgery. No head injury. They turn him every 2 hrs. He's holding his own. I also talked to his Dad tonight and told his to tell Patrick that you and friends are asking about him and keeping in touch with each other on his progress and to let him know that we're praying for him and to keep us informed. I left out that he can't move from waist down at this time, could be permanent or temporaryafter the swelling goes down and he improves. When I know more I'll let you know.. Pray for him. "

My friend that was involved in the accident received bad information about 5 days ago. She's been devasted and dreading the birth of her son because she thought another family lost their son. She gave birth on Friday and found out Sat. that he is alive and still trying to recover. She was so relieved! She knows he's not out of the woods yet but we have been praying for him.

Thanks so much for the update. I'm glad to hear that he is recovering though amazed after seeing how badly he was injured. Our prayers are with him.

Not to sound insensitive, as I'll be keeping this man in my prayers, but how are his dogs doing?
