I have to choose a hospital to have my next child at, and I would really like to know if anybody knows which hospital is better to have the baby at. Baptist Women's Ctr or St. Francis Bartlett

My kids were not born here, but I have 4 friends who recently had babies, and they all chose Baptist Women's. Their decision may have been insurance based, I have never heard anything bad about SF, but I can tell you that all 4 of them were thrilled. One was on bedrest for 2 months before the baby was born, and one had a preemie at 28 weeks. They all had a great experience.

We had our last baby at St. Francis Bartlett, and it was a great experience. Our main reason for picking St. Francis was proximity to home (it is just a couple of miles from us), but we wouldn't have picked it if we hadn't heard good things from others. I've also heard nothing but good things about Baptist Women's, so I think you'd be fine whichever way you went.

My dr. told me that if (God forbid) anything should go wrong at delivery, that he would prefer be at Baptist Womens because they have all the equipment/whatever in case anything was to go wrong. Of course, I'm not trying to scare you, but it's good to be prepared! I had one of my kids there and I called it "Club Med". It was nice.

I'll second that. I work as an anesthesiologist at The Med, where we get plenty of high risk patients. The OB/GYN residents from here rotate to Baptist. So besides equipment availability, which I'll assume to be correct, you'll have experienced resident physicians taking care of you in addition to your obstetrician.

I thought I saw a lot of pathology doing my OB Anesthesiology fellowship at Maimonides Medical Center (NY), but at The Med there is greater frequency of the same pathology, and some new ones.
