Nice places to live near or in Jackson?
I am about to take a job in Jackson but have heard it is one of the msot dangerous cities to live in the US but I know that like anywhere, it depends on where you are so I was wondering what areas, zips, or nearby towns would be decent to live in.
Also, how much do 1 bedroom apartments run? I'm thinking 400-600 but could be wrong. I'm a single male so its not important that its a safe area for kids to play or near good schools.

People I know from the area say stay north of I-40 and you are in the better areas, but I'm not if you can find that kind of rent level there.

Jackson is not 'one of the most dangerous cities' in the US. If a town the size of Jackson has 12 murders per year, its murder rate goes through the roof, and the percentages make the town look like murder is occurring everywhere around you. Jackson typically has 10-15 murders per year. That's too high, but considering that the vast majority of those occur in a part of town you most likely will never see, I think you'll be alright.

There are some very nice places and some not so nice places to live in Jackson.
My Favorite is the Bemis Community.
I also have heard from various other Citizens of Madison County that Medon, Malesus, Pinson, parts of Beech Bluff, Spring Creek , Oak Field Area and the General Area of The West Town Commons are also Nice and Fairly Peaceful Places to live in : in Jackson - Madison County Tenn.
