Arlington is excellent, and has strong sensible government in place that are concerned with bringing the right kind of growth/businesses to the city. Very, very good schools, a small town feeling (music at the town square in summer brings so many in the community and is incredibly fun). Also, White Oaks seems to be super nice...still in building phase but currently appears probably about 60-70% occupied. The Vesta home show will be there this October and an interesting thing is that those Vesta homes are supposedly certified "green" houses. There are awesome older homes situated on beautiful tree lined streets, and a wonderful large and update "playground of dreams" in a pretty park like setting for all to enjoy. I've lived in Collierville when it was much smaller, and Arlington reminds me of that...still good schools in Colliervillle but unfortunately Collierville seems to be somewhat over commercialized now and full of segregated/isolated McMansions with much less of a community feel. Not trying to put down any area, just honest observation from someone who has lived in both areas. I've read a lot of the posts recommending other areas like Bartlett (schools are not great at all, declining home values, and crime is much more present regards of what anyone thinks), Germantown (somewhat like Collierville but a bit better at controlling commercialism, schools on the decline some due to zoning issues), and parts of Memphis (some beautiful but 95% of schools are horrendous, crime is high and property taxes are exorbitant compared to every single one of the suburban communities). I can't conceive why anyone would actually pay so much more to have substandard schools (at best), a government filled with blatant racism, and a horrible crime rate, but whatever floats your boat!!!
