BWM is on a distinguished road
Pick up a Memphis Flyer while you are here. It has a calendar inside highlighting some of the events going on. You can get it at the entrance to just about any restaurant or high traffic retail spot. It is a free weekly cultural/communitiy news publication. It also has many rental listings so that should help you out as well.

Very good suggestion, for both events and rentals.

Where are you staying while in town? Grocery stores have these, you'll see them on street corners, restaurants as mentioned, etc. Hotels will probably have some too, at least the larger hotels.

We'll be at the Crowne Plaza... They may possibly have them as well. If not, I'll find one someplace!

I think I'll pass on watching the junkies and pimps off each other... I saw enough of that in Hustle and Flow...

We got busy last night looking up places in Germantown and Colliervillle, so I am just now sitting down to go through what you all have suggested.

You know, I was born and raised here and I've never seen that type of behavior. Where should I go to see the action?

Man, the folks in Whiteville are bad mouthing my hometown. Next thing you know the folks in Finger will be bad mouthing our restaurant choices.

I'm just kidding with you Capt. Dan. Whiteville isn't my cup of tea, but probably not much chance to see a** cap popping and such over that way. Have to go to Bolivar for that kind of big city fun.

As for things to do, I'd say if you are at the Crowne Plaza I'd make a point of going to a Redbirds game. It's walking distance and you'll see one of the best two or three things to do in this town. You are going to be on the edge of the tourist district at the Crowne Plaza so if you decide to go out for a walk, I'd recommend heading south and west versus north and east. You can also go west on the other side of the downtown Marriot (across the street from your hotel) and catch the trolley there and take that to Union. Save a little walking avoid a bit of the downtown wildlife (homeless dudes).

That's because I keep spreading the word about how nice the Whiteville-Bolivar corridor is to the folks coming out of 201. Some of them don't know where that is, but I give them a nice map with directions and everything. Don't thank me, it's the least I can do to help out my fellow West Tennesseans.
