I really don't there is a "name" for the area... or there is and I don't know about it. It's the area around what on google maps is referred to as "Fletcher Creek"

Cordova is a little wierd when it comes to crime. Some areas are bad while other areas and really safe. Cordova over all is generally safe and the crime it does have is no where near other bad areas of Memphis. It is mostly petty theft though. The good thing about Cordova is that alot cops live there. I have a friend of mine who got out of the Academy a few months ago who lives in the Reserve apartments right off of Germantown Pkwy and told me Cordova gets a bad rep because some it is part of the city. Said the MPD is serious about not letting it turn into another Hickory Hill.

I used to live at The Reserve -- I loved the location, except driving anywhere on that part of G'town Parkway was a beast.

I now live at Walnut Hill apts, also in Cordova -- Walnut Grove between Sanga and Forest Hill Irene. I LOVE these apartments and really cannot say enough nice things about them. So quiet here (much quieter than the Reserve), very family oriented and the apartments are laid out so wonderfully. I've felt very safe here, but each apt has a built in alarm system, as well. The location, driving-wise, is much better than The Reserve too.

I've long said it, and I still stand by it -- with the exception of just a few complexes, Cordova is a fantastic place to rent an apartment and live. I would have to think long and hard before buying anything here, though.

Alisa...

Country Squire (at G'town Parkway and Walnut Grove) is definitely to be avoided. I've never lived there myself, but I've had friends do so, and it is just not safe. I get a crime report from the MPD for every crime happening within a 3-4 mile radius of my apartment, and literally every single crime happens in that complex.

Also, I've heard lots of negative things about Woodchase Apartments, further along G'town Parkways toward Wolfchase Galleria -- though I have no firsthand experience with them. If nothing else, Sunshine Corporation owns those apartments and they're terrible. They'll take you to court over fifty cents, basically.

Other than that, I *think* the other apartments are fine, though if you find a complex you love, tell me what it is and I'll see what I can dig up for you.
