I hoping someone can give me some advice. My boyfriend and I will potentially be moving to Memphis within a month. He will be working for Colgan airlines, so we would like a place relatively close to the Memphis Airport. We're looking for a quiet place to live, preferably gated. Though our budget is at a max of $700 a month. I've been looking mostly in Germantown/Collierville. Does anyone has a suggestion of a good complex to live in that's safe and affordable? Thank you for any suggestions!

The airport (like almost all airports in this country) is in a bad area of town. So, you do not want to live nearby. $700 is not going to get much, especially in Germantown or Collierville. Those are the most expensive and exclusive suburbs of Memphis. There are few complexes in Germantown, on purpose - they don't want them there! Collierville may have a few more. I do not know names, but I'm sure you can do an easy Google search and come up with the names of all complexes in those cities. Anything in either city will be safe.

Also downtown is not a far drive from the airport, no further than Gtown or Cville. There are safe complexes downtown, including on the island (harbortown). If you are younger and like to be around things to do, I think downtown would be much more interesting than the family-focuses cities of Gtown or Cville.
