I find that very odd - and doubt that the notice was from a repo company. If they thought that truck was on a repo list, they would have towed it right then rather than leaving a note...unless the truck was parked in a position that it couldn't be towed.

Repo companies ALWAYS verify the VIN on a vehicle. I wonder if the notice was actually left on another vehicle in the parking lot and someone moved it to yours?

Sounds like some stupid scam. My windshield has never been covered in so much garbage as it is in Memphis. Most likely, if you call the number, you'll have some sleazy salesman on the other end wanting to tell you about extended car warranties, payday loans, or some other scam. These people feed off poor, desperate, and ignorant people.

Did anyone ever find out if this was a scam? OR a repo man? I just got the same sounding notice on my door in South Alabama...I can't figure it out.

I'm not a big fan of knocking my city, but we do have more than our share of citizens meeting the poor/desperate/ignorant standard. Every time I see someone driving away from one of the hundreds of title pawn/payday loan businesses that dot the city I wonder whether desperation or ignorance led them there. In either event, it's a sure fire way to stay poor.

Were you here during Tony Alamo's tax evasion trial? There were days when I'd have 10 or 12 different fliers from his followers on my windshield after leaving the car parked for a couple of hours in some public place.

I live in North Alabama, and i did not receive one on my car a black man came to my door and left it hanging on the door nob. I am very sure it is not about reposing a car. Repo people do not leave notes.....they steel cars for a living. I am curious though to find out what UAR means, like about the paper they left had a case number and a local phone number, so i called back. They told me some names of people I've never heard of yet and abruptly hung up saying wrong address. I have been living in my house for over 3 years now, and just dumfounded by the whole ordeal. I would love to know any information contain what UAR stands for or who they really are, i really doubt that the people who left the UAR note on my door is from the united Arabic republic or whatever any info would be appreciated thanks.

Our conversation ended there.

Did anyone get a strange notice like this before?

I got this yesterday on my door. Guess i will see whats going.

If you get a phone number on a letter or caller-ID, put it in a site like this: http://whocallsme.com/

to see others' notes on why someone is calling. Usually telemarketers or some such. Anyway it can help clear up the mystery.
