My husband will be working in Millington at the Naval base. We will get there in May sometime. We are currently in San Diego.

What areas are best for families, have good schools (elementary) and are a close commute to Millington (20 minutes or less)?

I've searched the forum, but I didn't see a lot of commute times. We want a shorter commute.

Thank you.

I think your best bet would be to try the northern part of Bartlett. I'm talking about the intersection of Old Brownsville Rd. and Ellendale Rd. It's a good, safe area with good schools. And its affordable I believe. Not exactly sure on the home prices though. And it definitely fits your time frame of under 20 minutes.

I just moved to Millington recently. If schools are a concern for you, my co-workers say that Tipton County has the best schools.

I think Arlington in Shelby county is also good as well.

I second Maximus, that area of Bartlett is very nice looking, with a classic, small town feel to it.
