Lynnfield has some townhouses, but you're right about brick vs. siding. What about Greenbrook? It's on Greenbrook Pkwy.

Eh, I wouldn't go Greenbrook. It's more part of the not so great area of Bartlett, off 40 and Sycamore View, south. Towards Macon? I used to pass by there everyday. From what I've heard people say, it was a lot of poorer people with kids. So, lots of people always running around and stuff.

OK, here are some places that are in our price range and near-ish to my husband's work. Can anyone tell me what these are like, or anything at all? Thanks so much.
Champion Hills at Windyke
Watergrove, on Quince Road
The Reserve at Dexter Lake
Stonebridge, in Cordova. I could only find this on apartments.com. It wasn't on apartmentguide.com or apartmentratings.com
Country Squire, in Cordova
Farmington Gates
Cedar Ridge Patio Homes. I could only find this on apartments.com. The pictures don't make it look that great, but the floorplan is interesting. I think it's a pretty low price for so much square feet, which is tempting if it's not crappy. Does anyone know anything about this place? You can look at it here: Apartments.com - Community Glance

Not Watergrove. Gotten pretty dangerous down there. Reserve is in a safe area, it's a huge complex on Gtown Rd. Country Squire is okay, safe, but sort of older. HUGE complex. Farmington is in Germantown, which is good to have that address. Not sure about Stonebridge or Champion Hills. Or Cedar Ridge.

i lived in Country Squire for a year. i liked it. they're pretty nice for the price. my only complaint was the parking at my apt, but i'd see other buildings with plenty of parking so it may have just been inconsiderate ppl with too many cars. either way, they are nice.

Yes to The Reserve, Stonebridge, Lincoln on the Green. There is also a very nice complex at Cully and Macon Rd (can't remember the name) that you might want to look into. It is in Cordova.
I would say no to The Grove at Trinity Point (only because the main entrance is right at the intersection of Trinity and G'Town Parkway and because 2 years ago, someone left their baby in the car during the hottest hours of the day in the summer and the baby died...it just put a bad taste in my mouth for that complex). No to Cordova Creek -- only because the others are nicer. No to Country Squire because it is old and there seems to be a lot of people who walk along the property lines around that complex that look...let's say...just a tad bit shady. No to Rockcreek because they are old and that is near the busiest section of North G'town Parkway.

i'd say yes to all. there's not really any 'bad' complexes in Cordova. Pomartini brings up good points on locations, though. i can imagine that Rock Creek would be hard to exit/enter first thing in the morning or b/t 5 & 6 in the afternoon.

RockCreek
Trinity Lakes - I lived there and hated it. Was getting very bad, lots of (sorry) poor people with a trillion kids, bumping music all night, home all day and night outside being loud..etc.
The Grove at Trinity Pointe
Cordova Creek
Woodchase
Ridgeway Commons - No. These are the ones right at Poplar and 240, right? I've been in there. Wow. I know a lot of people who have lived there but I thought they were some of the trashiest apts I've been in, including what I lived in for college!
Poplar Place Townhomes
Whispering Oaks condos
Lincoln on the Green - these are pretty far away aren't they? Sort of SE too, nearing some bad areas (if I'm thinking right)
A lot of those others, as mentioned, are right on Gtown Rd, which is a nightmare. I refuse to drive out there anymore, unless it's late at night when traffic is less. I wouldn't suggest living right on Gtown Rd, although it's not inherently "bad" but when I lived out there I would sit in traffic on Gtown Rd for 30 min at night after work to go about 2 miles. I never understood it.

Well welcome to the area!! You can definitely find a really nice rental for $900 a month. I live in the Cordova Creek apartments and pay $784 a month for a large 2BR/2.5 B townhome. Germantown is going to be more expensive, though... That's where all the upity rich folks live.
