Your story breaks my heart - what a good mom you've been to your sons!

I can only imagine having done the same things, any and everything to try to find a way to "cure" my child if I were in your shoes. You are an awesome lady

After my first was dx'ed, I thought the Thimerisol in vaccines and the number of vaccines given were a possible factor. With my second, I specifically pushed off his vaccines, those he did get I made sure were Thimerisol-free and we didn't give him his MMR as scheduled.

My second was dx'ed with Autism anyway.

Oh, I'm well aware of it and don't plan to waste my time on that for long. You either get it, or don't get it, or will get it when it's your time. I also used to think some people I know were obsessed about food. They just happened to know before I did. And food is just the cap of the iceberg...

Well, even at the time of "Rain Man" (which wasn't very long ago) autism was quite rare, wouldn't you agree? It most certainly exists. The question is why!

Same here. And one of the neuropsychologists told me when my son was just over 2 years old, that he would be a bagboy at Kroger for his entire life, and never be able to speak. I was devastated for him. He'd already been through major surgery (lambdoid synestectomy at age 6 months), severe asthma and allergies, chronic eczema, and now this.

Luckily, he can speak. And he is high-functioning. He will most likely never be able to live unassisted, but who knows? There's no other choice than to just accept it, it's there, it's not going away, and I am doing my best to understand how he thinks. I can say this: he's not Rainman.

Well, that just shows, nothing is certain. Some are relating it to wheat indigestion, some to vaccines, and some to unknown causes.

I don't even like to take Advil for a headache.

I guess I passed on some effed up DNA. What the hell was I exposed to when I was younger?

I read an article not long ago about the CAT scans done left and right for nothing. It makes your skin crawl! Who knows what even these ultrasounds do?! Can't you friggin' wait to know the gender of your baby?! People somehow managed throughout history! Noooo, instant gratification! I didn't know you can get radiation by just being around cancer patients who've received it. God help those who work there!
