I've been a long time member, lurking around this one board. Well, not quite.
But why is that any time someone shows up with a problem, people advocate therapy, support group or some kind of shrink service pronto??
Isn't the best therapy a few encouraging words??
Does everyone always take a handful of pills to combat regular things like a headache?? A short and sound nap followed by a nice meal will cure a headache, rather than the addictive habit of seeking a drug - drug for combating depression, anxiety, sleeplessness and one million other bizarre states of mind, which can otherwise be solved by realizing the fullness of life like taking a 3 mile jog, playing sports, community service and social/familial interaction.
So I'm standing on top of a cliff right now, if anyone ever utters the dreaded T word ever again, I'll jump
T...herapy. Just kidding. Please, don't jump and if you need help there are a myriad of pills, hotlines, and self help books available to help you get over your "T" word phobia.
Sometimes there is no hope. Sorry.
I had a friend who had been in Vietnam, kept saying he was going to kill himself. One night I laid a loaded 44 mag in his lap and told him to do it or shut up. It has been 20 years and he has not brought it up again.
It can take years, but often we look back and see the true friends that did not sugar coat it and told us the truth right off. Maybe not the popular answer or even pc.
you want to jump off a cliff? I think you need therapy
LMAO I've never needed therapy ever in my life, and I still think it's the biggest scam in the universe (second only to non-Abrahamic religions, just kidding, hahaha)

Exactement. And I bet if the guy showed up here, the T word would fly left and right
You are spot on Antlered! I always liked the way you think and your philosophies. I admit, I have called help centers before and I am SO tired of them telling me "Oh, you should see a therapist" then the therapist suggest that you get on some medication. It's just one referral to the chucking next. I much rather just have a night out, do some sports, have a social gathering of some sort with great people rather than rely on a pill or any drug ANY time.
