Just ended my months' long bout of insomnia by supplementing with Cal-Mag-Zinc and a separate potassium pill. Research found my BP med (Lisonopril with HCTZ diuretic) washes out these minerals from your system.

With 80% of us short on magnesium, it's sure worth a try to see if it ends your anxiety, racing heart, insomnia and restless mind. A cheap fix and almost immediate results.

Wish my doctor had warned me this could happen with my meds--might have saved me a lot of long, restless and sleepless nights.

Has anyone ever tried prescription anxiety meds like ativan, klonopin or xanax and had the magnesium work better? I tried both ativan and klonopin, currently on xanax but i can never tell if it's actually working.

Magnesium. And best to take along with calcium, potassium and zinc. You can get a combo pill with Cal-Mag-Zinc and take separate zinc and potassium.

I almost ordered NIACIN from the internet.

90 tabs, 500 mg Niacin, 36 mg Calcium carbonated, 30 mg Magnesium oxidide, for $7,19 plus shipping.

I read that magnesium oxide is not as absorbable as magnesium citrate or magnesium malate.

Thanks for the tip^

I take a multi & a calcium supplement, but neither have any magnesium, strangely enough.
Might have to look around & see if I can find such a thing in a format I can take.
I can't swallow pills unless they're teensy-tinsy, but I suppose it comes in powder, too.

Try 'Natural Calm', it's a fizzy powder type drink made with warm/hot water. very absorbable and you should feel the effects pretty quick if your in need of it. Makes me feel so nice and relaxed. Check it out on amazon.com, lots of great reviews with a wide spectrum of effects on peoples ailments. I'm going to go have some right now..

I went to GNC yesterday, bought a bottle of 500mg Magnesium and a bottle of 500 mg Niacin. Took a pill of each as directed on the bottle and by the clerk, after dinner.

After 10 minutes, I started itching, burning, my whole body turned red and I could hardly breath nor talk. The blood was rushing through my ears, I couldnt even hear much. After an hour, it went a bit better and after 2 hours, I felt much better.

NO FUN, guys, NO FUN!!!

I've heard that is a known effect of niacin, called "niacin flush"
Niacin - Wikipedia, the free encyclopedia
I'd suggest taking the supplements separately, and/or even skipping the niacin.
