I started noticing redness beneath my eyes in November. Went to see two doctors at Florida Hospital in the ER room. They ran numerous allergy tests but could not come up with anything. Basically told me to take Benadryl.

I went to see my pyschiatrist and she told me to go see a dermatologist even though the meds I were on very new and one was Epitol. Drugs like Epitol are known to cause Stevens-Johnson. She saw how I looked and how much pain I was in. She did NOT tell me to stop taking the medications.

Went to the dermatologist and she told me eczema. Gave me creams and a prescription that dried me out worse. My eyes were basically in the conjunctivitus state at the dermatologist's office. Had a grand mal seizure in New Jersey and almost did not wake up. Bit my tongue, dislocated my shoulder, bruised my head. My memory and vision are worse. I never had memory problems before SJS came along. The woman who diagnosed it was a personal friend of the family's. Not one doctor before did. I got Lupus, eczema mentioned. I am upset. I was not warned about this drug upfront and numerous doctors failed me. I am not working and cannot go back to work until I recover. My body still lacks the ability to create sweat and I overheat. Skin is still drying and healing but I look like death warmed over.

Do I have a possible lawsuit? I've never sued anyone in my life but two ER doctors, one pyschiatrist and a dermatologist all missed it. My face, arms, legs and body were showing signs of SJS.

Pretty upset right now since my body is still healing and I have to worry all day about overheating.

Oh. Stopping taking the meds after I came out of the hospital. I called my psychiatrist on a Sunday and she never called back. Finally heard from her and she told me to stop taking two of the medications. I asked her what I could switch to and she said nothing until I fully healed. So now I am physically in bad shape and mentally messed up as well.
