HI. I am new to this forum. I am going through Citalopram withdrawals. I could really use some encouraging advice and comments. I took this drug for about 8 years at least. I have bad IBS and have not had any anxiety problems for a very long time. I have been through many tests to find out whats wrong with my stomach and after many tests and even having my gal bladder taken out, by ibs is still bad. I decided to quit taking this drug after reading that It can cause stomach problems. I have tried quitting a few times but never could make it though all the withdrawls. This time I am determined to get off it for good. I have been only taking 10mg but I guess that's enough to cause problems when stopping. I slowly dropped my doses over a month, I was down to half a pill every three days, then stopped. It has been three weeks now. I was and still am very dizzy, have the head shocks, and some anxiety now. I seen my Dr a week and
a half ago about the dizziness and nausea and they prescribed me the same medicine that women take for morning sickness. It has helped when I am feeling really sick from being dizzy, but my symptoms from the withdraws are still here. I read online if they only last a few weeks your lucky, but can last for months and a good rule of thumb is to see how your doing after three months. Every day is a struggle. I still have to go to work, I only work 6.5 hours a day. I drive a transit bus,, but I am able to make it through my shift, but its not easy. I don't get too dizzy to drive, but by the middle of my shift I feel like crap. I'm just looking for someone that's going through the same thing as me that I can message or email with to help me though this. Looks like I still have a long road ahead of me. Thanks.
Is this Paxil generic? if so,go super slow!Like a 1/4 tab off reg dose for as long as you need to then,1/4 again, and then again till your off. It can be done!
NO BIG DEAL 10MG , why not try a straight overnight taper to another ssri , but if you want to stop dead, then you have to put up with it . it a minor withdrawal compared to most .
